new health care bill pros and cons - Tonight was the big night for Barack to sell health, and some even called it his night to sell his next term as president. With a speech that important, of course, which is expected to be earthshattering. Below is my take on the big field of health in America:

Pros:

* If he was being sincere or not, put in a good word about our nation's economy. These little things are positive soon a great change since last spring, when they knew enough that our economy was failing.
* He did a good job to start saying single payer was too left wing, around the world to pay for their own is too far right and we must act in the middle and bipartisanly. If you really carry out such a statement would be wonderful.
* We use the common sense solutions to their favor. Obviously, no one will argue against laws restricting health insurers to deny or restrict coverage once the patient gets sick.
* Was used as a time to dispel rumors that revolve around health, such as coverage for illegals. Despite the claim that illegals are not covered drew boos and a "That's bullshit," South Carolina Rep. Joe Wilson, I'll take your word that one until it is made of 100% are actually covered.
* I was surprised and expressed support for Tort Reform, which is absolutely necessary, with or without this bill. We have to Tort Reform.
* Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi did not disappoint (as always) in the background animation department. Joe followed the same perplexity, thought meet all of 45 minutes, Nancy perpetual grin was in full force tonight.

Cons

* Barack should do more to beat President Bush here. The line on health spending is "less than we spent on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and less on tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans a few" in the previous administration did nothing but entertain a few liberals and further alienate conservatives.
* Ted Kennedy's nostalgia was not necessary. That only fires the opposition because Democrats are clearly using his death to promote the cause.
* There were a couple of lies about the same, the bit about the majority of Americans support the health reform bill comes to mind. A simple trip to RealClear Politics dissipated.
* The entire chapter on the deficit without raising a penny, you probably should let go until we can show what and where to get money. It's hard to believe that 900 billion U.S. dollars we can only slip to adapt to this new health system.
* Threats of inactivity for which misinterperate the bill at the end of his speech certainly could have been cut. Reminded me of when in high school and that type becomes hall monitor and try to write that appointments for things off campus.
* Some of the sketchies provisions are still in the bill: public choice and mandatory health insurance, to name a few.

In general, I call on 7 of 10 elephants, 6 to 8 for the substance and delivery. He got the main points in everything and was good for him, but as said in the speech, there are still many details to fix. And until those data (ie when he's shooting for 900 billion U.S. dollars) are eliminated, I expect to see any great change in the perspective of the American people in the reform project.
